CeleFlux IS CHALLENGING
TREATMENT PARADIGMS IN UROLOGY
OUR VISION: RESTORING FUNCTION TO EXTEND HEALTHSPAN
CeleFlux is a urological medical device company focused on restoring quality of life.
The company's lead innovation is a urethral stricture treatment system that enables long-lasting minimally invasive reconstruction. This approach bridges the gap between current minimally invasive management options and gold standard definitive open surgical reconstruction - and challenges the clinical paradigm. CeleFlux is based in the Baltimore, Maryland metropolitan area.
IS A CURABLE CONDITION
TREATED AS A CHRONIC DISEASE
Urethral narrowing makes urination difficult and prevents complete voiding.
The lives of affected men are constantly interrupted by the urgent need to go,
day and night, with a devastating impact on their quality of life.
KEY SYMPTOMS: PAINFUL, FREQUENT URINATION, IMPAIRED SEXUAL INTIMACY, HIGH COMPLICATION RATES
INITIAL SUCCESS OF COMMON MINIMALLY INVASIVE APPROACHES IS ONLY 9%
AFTER 1-3 YEARS
85-90% OF OPEN RECONSTRUCTION PATIENTS ARE SYMPTOM-FREE
AT 2-4 YEARS
ACCESS TO EXPERTS IN COMPLEX OPEN SURGERY IS LIMITED; SURGERY RECOVERY LENGTHY 2-4 WKS
URETHRAL STRICTURE IS THE MOST COMMON CAUSE OF LUTS IN MEN AGED 20-40
COMMON IN THE ELDERLY POPULATION WITH INCREASING INCIDENCE AFTER 55
REPEATED DVIU OR DILATION CAN MAKE SURGERY MORE COMPLEX
OVER 306,000 BULBAR STRICTURES TREATED ANNUALLY IN THE U.S. ALONE
TAURUS by CeleFlux
MINIMALLY INVASIVELY RECONSTRUCTS
THE URETHRA TO RESTORE URINE FLOW
REPAIR THE STRICTURE
END THE CYCLE

We are passionate about improving the quality of life of urological patients through the development of paradigm-shifting innovative solutions. Our strength lies in our diversity. Different people, thinking differently, unified to broadly impact the lives of people across the world.
Chanya Godzich Elakkad
Chanya is a business-savvy biomedical engineer and entrepreneur. Her professional background includes management, purchasing, and sales experience - obtained prior to pursuing her BS in Bioengineering from UCLA and MSE in Bioengineering Innovation and Design from Johns Hopkins. Chanya leverages this non-traditional combination to bridge the worlds of business, engineering and medicine.
Dr. E. James Wright
Jamie is a world-renown reconstructive urologist, Chief of Urology and Director of Reconstructive and Neurourology at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Through his 20+ years of experience treating urethral stricture, he recognized a need for effective minimally invasive repair strategies - lacking a technical solution. Jamie is committed to a bench to bedside approach to innovation and positive impact on patient's lives.
Teja is a highly skilled mechanical and biomedical engineer, with over 5 years of medical device innovation experience. Teja obtained his BEng in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay and his clinically immersive MSE in Bioengineering Innovation and Design from Johns Hopkins. Teja leverages his diverse experience to bridge the gap between technical innovation and clinical application and design.
